Physiotherapy is concerned with returning you to normal function using the best clinical reasoning and up to date research.

We aim to:

1. Confidently assess and diagnose spinal or peripheral conditions
2. Use evidence-based practice to treat your problem
3. Maximise potential for recovery
4. Identify risk factors to help reduce future problems

Physiotherapy provides a wide range of treatment modalities to help relieve pain, promote relaxation and restore normal function. Exercises may also be used to improve muscle control and strength to support skeletal structures.

When the situation requires, we can refer you to our Doctor colleagues in resort for further investigations, such as x-rays and MRI scans.

Physiotherapy can treat :

- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Torn muscles and ligaments
- Upper limb conditions including shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand
- Lower limb conditions, groin, hip, knee, ankle and foot
- Anterior knee pain and cruciate (ACL) injury
- Post operative rehabilitation
- Core stability training
- Biomechanical issues
- Pre-ski assessment: muscle length testing and ski stretches
- Pilates
- Women’s health

In a typical initial appointment you will be fully assessed. A full medical history will be taken, along with any past history. The physiotherapist will then objectively assess your problem keeping you informed all the time of their findings. This will often require you removing some clothing. You can bring a chaperone if this makes you more comfortable. Throughout this time you will be able to ask as many questions as you like.

The physiotherapist will then outline your treatment options and formulate a plan with you.
