Electrotherapy
We can offer two types of Electrotherapy treatment: Ultrasound and Interferential Current Therapy.
Ultrasound
All our physiotherapists can offer Ultrasound, whether in the clinics or on house calls, and will use this in support of manual therapy, wherever appropriate. Ultrasound involves high frequency sound waves to treat soft tissue, which stimulates blood circulation and cell activity, accelerates healing time and provides pain relief.
Interferential Current Therapy
Interferential Current Therapy (or IFC) was introduced to physiotherapists in the mid-1950’s, and has been a successful treatment for the management of acute and chronic pain, muscle spasms, oedema, inflammation and low muscle tone.
